Up was the first animated and 3D film to open the Cannes Film Festival. The film received five Academy Award nominations and is the second animated film in history to receive a nomination for Best Picture.

The movie is about a 78-year-old man who sets out to fulfill his dreams and a promise made to his wife by tying balloons to his home and traveling to South America.
